Although verbal assaults on individual Council members are unacceptable, a line was recently crossed when physical threats were made to three members of Council and their families.

There is a long-standing saying in Lions Bay,”We are not West Vancouver.” Of late the question as to who is running the village has been asked increasingly frequently.

It is public knowledge the mayor has an unlawful cottage which until recently was an unpermitted short term rental. Taking part in discussions and voting on short term rentals and cottages is very likely a conflict of interest that could cost him dearly.

If there was ever proof Berry is part of the ongoing, divisive misinformation campaign on social media, another recent questionable agenda item is it.

A public hearing about proposed changes to Air BnB rules has been announced. Separate changes concern ocean front set-backs in Brunswick Beach.

In 2022 the former CAO became an election issue partly because he was seldom in the village. But Ken Berry’s CAO is similarly absent without rebuke from the mayor.

Two questionable items have been included on recent council agendas. How was this allowed to happen?

The previous council chose to hold strategic planning sessions in public. Ken Berry has other ideas.
